The Presidency has backed the embattled Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode to contest the governorship election under the ADP to face
Tinubu's endorsed candidate and the PDP in 2019.

It has also been confirmed, according to Hope For Nigeria that the disagreement between Governor Ambode and Tinubu was instigated by the Presidency, who is doing everything in the book to undermine or 'water down' Tinubu's influence in the South West.

President Buhari is using his ministers from the South West to checkmate Bola Tinubu's activities and will bankroll their activities in case Tinubu reneges in his promises to support Buhari's re-election bid.

The verbal promise of Tinubu being the Party's flagbearer in 2023 will not be honoured as Buhari's SouthWest contacts should have eroded Tinubu's influence by then. - Hope For Nigeria
